Philippe Simard

Advisor

Philippe Simard joined the COPTICOM team in 2019 and now serves as a consulting advisor. Specializing in the areas of climate change mitigation, energy transition, and international climate negotiations, Philippe acts as a consultant to stakeholders involved in the transition and those inspiring others to do the same. This involves providing strategic advice in communication and stakeholder positioning, as well as organizing large-scale impact events.

With a Master’s degree in Applied Political Studies, Philippe also teaches at the School of Applied Politics at the Université de Sherbrooke, where he has been actively involved in establishing a graduate microprogram in climate policies and negotiations. Each year, he teaches the intricacies of negotiations surrounding the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COPs).

Philippe also sits on the board of directors of the Carrefour de solidarité internationale de Sherbrooke, an organization that mobilizes actors from the Estrie region and overseas in international solidarity actions and global citizenship education.

Recently becoming a father, Philippe is also passionate about running and triathlons.
