Senior Advisor

Marie-Eve has over 15 years of communications management experience in the sustainable development and social change sector.

After starting her career at a PR agency where she completed assignments for private companies from various industries, she chose to devote her efforts to affecting social change and fighting climate change. She joined the Équiterre team where she worked for seven years; first as a project manager in communications and then as director of the department. Charged with overseeing the brand’s positioning and outreach as well as developing all of the group’s communications, she also conducted several public affairs projects concerning energy, transportation and agriculture. She represented the organization at several major conferences and events, including the UN Climate Conferences in Copenhagen and Cancun, for which she contributed to the communication strategies of Canadian environmental groups.

Marie-Eve was then recruited as the director of communications for ONE DROP, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to water created in 2007 by Guy Laliberté, the founder of Cirque du Soleil. There, she worked on a major strategic planning and organizational repositioning project in addition to leading a large-scale public awareness campaign in Las Vegas and with Cirque du Soleil audiences worldwide.

Marie-Eve Roy is passionate about strategic communications and holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations from the Université of Québec at Montréal (UQAM) as well as a certificate in Political Science from the University of Montréal.
