Katie Gagnon

Senior Advisor – Québec’s Office

Katie Gagnon played a crucial role in coordinating Anticosti’s inscription on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, a large-scale, high-impact project. Her ability to navigate easily through strategic relations and communications with elected officials, government departments, aboriginal communities and civil society organizations is a real strength.

Katie brings a wealth of public relations expertise, focusing on communities, public consultations and social acceptability issues. As a political scientist, she has worked for twenty years on initiatives in environment, land-use planning, women’s status, social economy and housing.

Katie is also a go-to resource for research and analysis, where her strategic insight, her rigor and her understanding of changes and of the evolving social and political fabric are put to good use. She has criss-crossed Quebec’s regions, piloting action-research projects, facilitating working groups, supporting groups of elected officials and socio-economic organizations, and guiding and contributing to collective projects in Côte-Nord, Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Jamésie and Outaouais.

Fascinated by the North and expeditions, she is passionate about Quebec’s different territories.
